Meet Trudi
Trudi’s passion for fashion began after living in London for six years. Upon her return to Wellington – and a couple of children later – Trudi gave friends’ a ‘wardrobe revamp’. These transformations led to many people contacting Trudi for the same advice. Previously a journalist in both London and NZ, she began the journey of researching and creating Wardrobe Flair in 2005. Every process is unique to Trudi, who follows an instinctual, logical and practical approach to finding colours, shapes and styles that suit everyone.
Since 2005 the business has grown through word-of-mouth and referrals. This has reiterated and confirmed that Trudi’s approach to her clients and her consultation processes have helped clients throughout New Zealand. She has a warm, energetic and down-to-earth manner that makes people comfortable and able to relax and enjoy the process from start to finish. Trudi is completely passionate about the business of building people’s confidence, showing individuals their strengths in dressing and importantly making it easy in this busy day and age.
As well as helping numerous individuals since 2005, Trudi enjoys working with new and existing corporate companies, presenting fashion segments on TV and being a Fashion Blogger for malls and radio stations.
Trudi is a confident and energetic public speaker with experience talking at conferences, partner programmes, corporate workshops and business groups.
In 2014 Trudi moved to Auckland to launch another branch of Wardrobe Flair, leaving the Wellington Branch & all its existing clients to be maintained by the wonderful Sarah Nichol.
When Trudi is not teaching people about their colours and shape, shopping or blogging she enjoys running, reading, LOVES to cook and tries at all times to laugh out loud with family and friends.

Hi Trudi, Thank you so much for yesterday. I am still on a high!!! I was so excited last night that I spent about an hour recreating combinations in my wardrobe and then taking lots of photos. I can’t believe how many different combos I came up with and I feel like I have only just scraped the surface because that doesn’t include the new SaveMart clothes.

Meet Sarah
Sarah’s background in fashion began as a window dresser and merchandiser for Country Road. This has given her a fantastic eye for being able the see how great an outfit can look on any body shape. After months of extensive training to which Sarah instinctually was a natural, she began working as a Wardrobe Flair consultant in early 2008. Sarah now has many years’ experience working one-on-one with clients and larger groups doing colour, shape and wardrobe consultations, personal styling and parties, plus she is an expert in personal shopping.
Sarah’s relaxed, calm and caring nature combined with her excellent eye for colours and shapes mean her clients completely enjoy their time with her and find the experience educational and inspiring.
An area that Sarah excels in is shopping in Wellington City for the corporate client or business men & women. If a work capsule wardrobe is required, Sarah will find it with a mix of designer and mainstream fashions.
Sarah’s evening colour and shape parties are a huge hit. This informal setting allows friends to get together for a fun evening of learning everyone’s colours and shape information. Sarah is a Newtown resident and mother of two, so completely understands how women’s bodies can change after children. Her understanding off different fabrics means she knows when something will cling and when something will drape in all the right places.

It will be great to now have confidence to buy and wear clothes that aren’t black. I’ve only just gone shopping with Sarah so I hope that when I next go shopping, I’ll be able to walk into a shop and not be completely disorientated about what I should be looking at. Sarah has a great eye for spotting what would suit you as soon as you cross the shop’s door. It saved a lot of time having someone else choose and bring to the changing room suitable items to try on. I feel brave enough to walk into shops that I would have scurried past before. Being confident to browse the clothes and quickly dismiss what will not suit because of colour and style

Sarah was great. Being a mum herself, she helped me find the perfect clothes. Especially for those ‘tidy Mummy days’. The shopping trip was terrific, but quite exhausting. I could never have achieved what we did in 2.5 hours. It was great to turn up to kindy the other day when one of the other mothers said that I was looking styley! I must now be doing something right. I realised I had been wearing clothes that were too big for me and getting rid of all those clothes that you keep because ‘one day you might wear it again’. I now have greater colour variety in my wardrobe. I think you tend to stick to a few colours you like so this experience was great in that it challenged you to step out of your comfort zone (or what you were use to).
